Born in Osaka, Japan, Akane Tada fell in love with the sound of the piano at an early age. Her love affair with music continued through her teenage years, studying classical piano with teachers Masako Kubo, Hatsumi Nishio, and Keiko Omura. At the age of 20, Akane made the leap across the pond to the Los Angeles area, studying jazz and pop performance at Citrus College, and later Cal State University Long Beach, under the tutelage of Joe Bagg, Cecilia Coleman, and Carlos Vivas.

 

Akane graduated in 2011 with a Bachelors of Music. She worked with different group of musicians throughout her college years and after.  She played in a reggae band and funk band with her college friends, wedding or corporate event with a top 40 band, she also played with some local latin bands. Although Akane played keyboards for the most of the bands she played, she developed her own music taste during those year and in 2017 she formed her own band and started arranging tunes for her piano trio.
